Registering to Vote
To be eligible to register to vote in the next election, you must be registered at least 30 days prior to the election and fulfill the following requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- 18 years of age by election day
- Resident of the City of Bloomfield Hills for at least 30 days
- If false information is provided, a person has committed perjury and is subject to a fine or imprisonment or both under Federal or State Law.
You may register to vote by mail, at your city or county clerk’s office or any Secretary of State branch office. An application for voter registration is available on the Secretary of State website.
Early In-Person Voting
Early voting allows registered voters to be issued a ballot that can then be inserted directly into a tabulator at the early voting site.
Early voting for registered voters in the City of Bloomfield Hills will be held at City Hall:
45 E Long Lake Road
Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304
Early Voting ballot canvass will be completed as part of the Absentee Voter Ballot Counting Board duties.
Absentee Voting
Absentee Ballots are available at City Hall beginning 45 days before Election Day. If you are not on the permanent mail ballot list, it is required you submit an application to receive an absentee ballot.
Complete this form to request an absentee ballot and / or to request to be placed on the permanent mail ballot list.
Absentee ballots are processed at City Hall 45 E. Long Lake Road. The absentee ballots are counted by the Absentee Counting Board, made up of a team of trained and certified election inspectors who are residents serving the community in this important role.
Voting at the Polls
Your city issued voter identification card indicates the precinct location where you vote for all elections.
- Precinct 1: City Hall, 45 E Long Lake Road
- Precinct 2: The Kingsley Hotel - Banquet Room Bloomfield I &II on lower level * (This is a new location - previous polling location was the Congregational Church of Birmingham)
