Crews continue to work on Rudgate to complete the installation of the new water main. Similar to the schedule reported for the other roads with water main work, once the infrastructure is installed, the system is put through a testing phase. It is during this time that the construction activity on the street is reduced, but progress continues.
On Monday, July 1st, the water will be shut off for residents on Kennebec for the new water main to be connected to the existing system. Oakland County Water Department will issue direct notification to the residents regarding boil water notices. The contractor is planning to complete this work as early as possible next week to be considerate of Independence Day holiday plans, this work however is dependent on weather.
There will be no work on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day.
As the infrastructure and road work continue, you may notice additional crews working to keep the project progressing. We understand construction is a disruption to your daily lives. Thank you for your continued patience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a project team member for assistance.
