2018 Road Program

The City of Bloomfield Hills has prioritized road and infrastructure improvements as part of the budget and goal setting process for 2018.  This year’s program is a comprehensive water main replacement and road improvement program, focused in the southwestern portion of the City. From Cranbrook Road to Lahser Road between Quarton Road and Lone Pine Road, residents will notice a lot of progress this construction season.

Work is scheduled to begin Thursday, April 26th

Below is the list of streets in each phase and the proposed tentative schedule, weather dependent:

Phase 1: April 26 - June 22
Streets: Woodridge Road and Goodhue Road

Phase 2: June 20 - July 25
Streets: Martell Drive from Yaboro Drive to Haverhill Road, Martell Court, and Haverhill Road

Phase 3: July 26 - September 19
Streets: Bennington Drive from Falmouth Drive to Rudgate Road, Rudgate Road from Falmouth Drive to Harlan Drive, and Marblehead Drive south of Rudgate Road.

Phase 4: September 13 - November 5
Streets: Merrimac Court, Sebago Lane, Falmouth Drive east of Lahser Road to Nantucket Drive, and Kennebec Court

Construction crews will be on-site providing layout stakes for the contractor, marking utilities, mobilizing traffic control signage, and installing soil erosion control measures.  Please do not remove the stakes as they are needed to properly align construction of the underground utilities and roadway.  We understand the importance of site restoration and will keep you informed as each phase of construction progresses.

Roads under construction will be closed to through traffic during construction.  Local traffic will be maintained, but progress may be slow at times as temporary road closures will need to occur for short durations while the Contractor performs the work and mobilizes equipment.

City staff members are ready to help answer general construction inquiries, please call us at (248) 644-1520 if you need assistance.
