Water Quality - Lead and Copper Testing

October 22, 2020

City of Bloomfield Hills - Lead and Copper Testing Results

Lead and copper sampling was completed in the Bloomfield Hills water system as required by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).  A minimum of 20 samples were required and 22 samples were collected from customer homes and analyzed.  The results of all samples were below the action level (AL) for both lead and copper.  The range of results for lead were between <2.0 – 3.6 ppb and less than the 15 ppb action level.  The copper results were between <5.0 - 85 ppb and all were below the action level of 1300 ppb for copper. The City's water testing has consistently returned results from the samples that fall well below the actionable levels for both lead and copper.  We will continually monitor and test as required for water quality in the City.
